It sucked.
Its the worst comic book about zombies I have read, ever. I kid you not

It starts off really really good.
Bus full of Convicts and Guards get run off the road during a stormy night. They are forced to walk through the woods to the nearest town. Then the only cool character dies 4 pages in.
Then they run into some people. nothing is really explained, it goes nowwhere and ends randomly.

Also the art changes from page to page. Also it goes from Really good to really bad. then good, then worse.

Also 20 Dollars for this crapfest was too much.

*Edit* I read more about this book and found out Ryall's Company made it. I feel even worse, because man this was a stinker, sorry Mr. R

Do you have something against Rob Zombie? I mean, he's a Superbeast.

Also, on the subject of zombies and apocalypse, I just started reading Stephen King's Cell and really like it. It's kind of a zombie story, at least it is so far (but I'm only in 35 or so pages).

I enjoyed that book. Movie adaptation is out at the end of this year, I think - Eli Roth.

Zombies vs Robots? Thats just lazy.

ninjas vs Zombies vs Robots, that could get a Nobel Prize.

Really I think the whole "x vs y" X Being a Staple of Badassness and y being some cool trend in movies/comics

Example Shaq vs Godzilla
Predator vs Aliens (which my god, that was a wasted 2 hours)

I like the fun ones.
Like
Predator vs a bear (real comic and still a good read if you can find it)
Aliens vs Pig

Team up are cool but only if done right

Ironically they've said they want to follow it up with:
Amazons VS Zombies VS Robots

Yeah, I read about that while I was searching around for Grindhouse DVD info. I think it already has potential, and am pretty glad they picked him to direct (he'll portray the violence and gore included in the story, and guarantee the appropriate R rating). Right now I'm about 150 pages in and loving every second. This may honestly be my favorite Stephen King book (which is surprising, since I wasn't expecting much from it).

This may honestly my favorite Stephen King book

And what would be the first?

Regarding the Cell adaptation, I've read Roth shall be keeping faithful to the first half of the book, but didn’t like how 'the story gets pared down to a story about human survival in the post-apocalyptic world ruled by phone crazies' and so will alter the second half of the story for his movie. Which should be interesting...

Right now it's between Pet Semetary and The Stand, but Cell's inching its way up there page by glorious page.

Pet Semetary.

Yep, that and the Shining are my favs. Also enjoyed Thinner.

When I first heard of this (before I got to the second half), I didn't like the idea at all. However, now that I'm 310 pages in, I have to say I kind of agree. The book's still great right now, but it would definitely make more sense for the movie to be altered.

Let us know when you've finished it.

Don't want to say anything which you haven’t read yet. But yes, there are a few things I'd remove for the adaptation, too.

I've got around 130 pages left, but I really don't know when I'll finish it. I don't read a huge amount, but I think I'll probably read a little bit more this week so I can finish it soon and buy and read Hannibal Rising (which comes out Tuesday) in paperback. Unfortunately, if I don't get close to finishing it by Friday (or as I like to call it, Spider-Man 3 Super Happy Fun Day), it might take a while to finish, especially since I plan on seeing Spidey 3 at least 3 or 4 times and possibly buying the game for 360. I'll be sure to post when I get done, though.

Finished it. Took a while, but I finally managed to get some time to read it. I didn't really like the "ending", of course. I'll wait for a reply from you until I mention anything else.

I enjoyed aspects of the business end of the novel. The idea of the Raggedy Man. Alice's death was also a shock. It was the whole idea of the Crazies beginning to elevate which I didn’t think boded too well.

I also enjoyed the very end of the novel - the does/doesn’t he 'reboot' concerning his son. It was different, and felt refreshing.

I loved the first half of the novel, but the second just seemed slow at points. I kind of expected Alice to go after a certain point, but not exactly how it happened. Overall, I really enjoyed the book, but kind of want a little more explanation of what the Pulse really was, and who created. I honestly can't wait to see the flick (but I'll have to, since they haven't even started on it). I'll definitely pick it up and read it again sometime.

I didn't really mind the levitation, in all honesty. I thought it made sense, since the Phone Crazies had evolved in the Phone People. I think the whole idea of them sharing a collective mind and having telekinetic abilities was an interesting plot point.

Note: May be spoilers, not sure...

From Wiki: Possible Dark Tower references

It is unknown whether or not Cell is actually part of the Dark Tower storyline, but there are some speculated references:

The hero's comic-book character, the "Dark Wanderer" (Ray Damon), resembles Roland Deschain of the Dark Tower series; in addition to sharing the initials R.D., both men use large .45 Colt revolvers as weapons. Clay's wife, Sharon, referred to the character as Clay's "apocalyptic cowboy." Another possible analogue mentioned as being in the comic is the Wizard Flak (Randall Flagg).

Late in the novel, the protagonists stumble across a half-assembled carnival, which includes a child's ride called "Charlie the Choo-Choo", a reference to the third and fourth books in the series.

The unincorporated Maine township of TR-90, which features in the book, has also featured in Dreamcatcher and the Dark Tower-related Bag of Bones.

Many numbers in the book add up to 19, a number that was cited as particularly significant in the latter three novels of the Dark Tower series. The number on the plane that crashes into a building at the beginning of the novel and the year Gaiten Academy was founded are two examples of this.

I read that yesterday on Wikipedia, actually. I kind of thought the Dark Wanderer comic was a reference to the Dark Tower books when I was reading Cell, but I wasn't sure. Also, I just (finally) started the second Dark Tower book yesterday. I really enjoyed the Gunslinger when I read it about 2 or 3 years ago, but never followed up on the series until now.
